Ministry Candidate

You may know that our church, Parkview Christian Church, has been searching for a new Associate Minister since last November. Our previous Associate took a position with his home church, and we began the search for the person God was leading to us, and leading us to. Our search team has reviewed several resumes during the intervening months, and we feel like God may be narrowing down our focus to a specific person and his family. They will be with us this weekend for interviews, to get to know us, and us them, and to spend time with us on Sunday during our services.

That makes this a pretty significant weekend for both this family and our church. Would you please be in prayer for us, both the church and our leadership, and this man and his family? Here are a few things I would ask you to pray for:

This man and his family to clearly understand God’s call to them.
Our church leadership, as they strive to understand God’s plan.
Pray that we trust God for his timing and work.
Pray for the logistical details to fall into place.
Pray that God’s work through PVCC can make an impact in Sedalia.

Thanks for lifting our church up!

Your Prayers Are Needed

Our family has experienced several large obstacles over the past few months. Some of these you know about, such as the death of my grandmother and the struggle to find what is causing one of my daughters to feel sick all the time. Other obstacles we have not shared very publicly, and it is sufficient to say that there are some issues that have brought a load of stress upon our family. I cannot say more about these at the moment, other than to ask you to pray.

Even when things seem bleak and difficult, we can know that God is right there with us, and he has things in his control, whether we can see it or not. To that end, I would ask you to pray for us as we walk these paths. Here are a few thoughts on how you can join us in prayer:

Pray for strength.
Pray that we can trust God through it all.
Pray for his guidance to be evident.
Pray that our stress and worry can be lessened.

Thanks for lifting my family up.

Please Pray For My Family

UPDATE: Later on February 16, just before noon, my grandmother took her final breath of this earthbound atmosphere and took her first breath of heavenly air in the presence of Jesus. I’m sure the reunion with her husband, son and grandson, among others, was sweet. And best of all, she finally heard those words, “Well done! Enter into my rest!”

My family and I could use your prayers at this time. My grandmother has been in declining health for the past few years, but recently her decline seem to have been speeding up. She is in her mid 90s, so this doesn’t come as any surprise, but it is still a difficult time for our family. Please be in prayer for us.

Because of this, things may be sporadic around here for the time being. I hope to be as consistent as I can be, but I expect to be in and out a lot more for the foreseeable near future.  Thanks for understanding.

And, so you know who you are praying for, here is a picture of my grandmother holding my youngest daughter.  Mercy is a newborn here, and she’s now three.  My grandmother loved being able to hold her just days after she was born.

Mercy And Her Great Grandmother

Jungle Safari VBS

This week will be a crazy week around here, and things will be a bit slower here at JeffRandleman.com. Our church is having our summer Vacation Bible School all week, and it will be a huge event. The past few days have been very hectic as our team put everything together, from the stage and main areas, to lesson classes, and crafts, and snacks and everything in between. It’s very elaborate, and incredibly cool!

However, with the crazy week in process, I don’t plan on posting as much as normal. There will be a few fun posts though, and I plan to share a few photos (maybe even videos!) of our stage and facilities. Stay tuned for that!

Please keep our week of VBS in your prayers. This is one of the biggest events we do during the summer, making a big impact in the lives of countless children, and their families.
