The problem with Kopi luwak is that the cats are now in cages and fed ordinary berries to digest, thus giving us ordinary beans crapped out a cat. The reason they got their reputation is because, roaming free, they would choose the best berries and therefore, um, produce the best coffee beans. I might have been willing to try that, but no way I’ll try cruddy beans fed to a cat in a cage and pooped….ugg. Oh, and I’ve heard that when you roast them they make the whole room smell like poo…..no thanks
The other problem lies in the fact that these cats range pretty far naturally. If you’re a single origin type of person, the cat may mix it up a little too much for your taste…
