Coffee Break

The Impress Coffee Brewer: Potentially Impressive – I am constantly on the lookout for coffee accoutrements that make life easier, especially while traveling. The Impress looks like a great addition. Serving as both a press and a travel mug, it reduces the amount of accessories one would need to carry with them. With Christmas coming, this has been added to my wish list.

Daniel Kukla: The Edge Effect – I love outdoor photography, so when I find something creative, I get pretty excited. Daniel Kukla has taken a large mirror into several areas of the Joshua Tree National Park in California, capturing opposing elements of the scenery. It’s pretty incredible.

Sword Fighting As It Was For The Vikings – I’ve never been too interested in the Norse sagas. I did watch Thor, and I think I may have read a book or two based on Nordic mythology. These guys produced a video illustrating what sword fighting probably was like in the era of Leif Erickson. Interesting, to say the least.

6 Reasons To Do Chores WITH Kids – Around my house, getting the kids to do their chores often seems to be a struggle. But I’ve found it to be true that when I work with my kids, instead of directing my kids, it’s accomplished easier; especially with the younger ones. The Some Wise Guy blog lists several benefits of this as well.

How Many Children Should We Have? – Our sixth child, Jude Michael, is due to arrive in this world on January 8th. That’s right. He’s our sixth. Since we have such a large family, I hear comments and questions frequently, such as “How can you afford that?”, “Why do you have so many children?”, and “Are you crazy?” While we may be a bit crazy, we love each of our kids, and know that God has placed these kids in our family for a reason. Tim Challies has written an excellent article looking at the different aspect of this issue. Great stuff.

The Literal Word – The Literal Word is a quick and easy search engine for the Bible, focusing on only the ESV and the NASB. With three different views, Literal Word lends itself easily to reading, study, and copying passages into sermons and lessons. And, since I’ve always loved the NASB, and am quickly becoming a fan of the ESV, these two translations are perfect for me.

If you do not listen to theology, that will not mean you have no ideas about God, rather it will mean you have a lot of wrong ones. – C. S. Lewis
