Memorize Scripture: Philippians 4:21-23

In this final paragraph of Paul’s letter to the Philippians, he gives some final greetings and encouragement to the church he loves dearly.

You can see his final thoughts to them in Philippians 4:21-23:

Philippians 4:21-23

This is the final paragraph of Paul’s encouraging letter to the church in Philippi.

This greeting comes from four individuals or groups of people, and is given to two different groups of people.

In Paul’s final greeting, he lists those who extend the greeting, becoming more specific with each addition. First of all, and most obviously, Paul himself greets the believers in the Philippian church. Next, the brothers with him send greetings. Other than Timothy, we don’t know who this might have included. Third, all the saints send greetings. And finally, especially those of Caesar’s household. This shows Paul is continuing to be influential with the message of the gospel, even though he is imprisoned.

Next, this greeting is addressed to two different groups: the Philippian believers, who were the primary recipients of Paul’s letter, and also to all the saints. Paul’s greeting is very inclusive of the whole Christian community in Philippi, as he has been throughout the letter. Even though he has had to address a few individuals specifically, he makes sure the whole church in that city is encouraged.

Reviewing The Month On JeffRandleman.com

March was crazy. First of all, it didn’t come in like a lion and go out like a lamb. It did it all backwards. Second, Easter Sunday was the final week of March, which made it extra busy. And finally, we just had a lot of stuff going on!

Top Posts for March 2016

I don’t know how I manage to stay as busy as I do. It seems like there is always something going on, and we have somewhere to be. With a family like ours, with seven kids, one of them always seems to need to be somewhere, all the time.

This past week, I managed to find some time to take a break and not do anything. I stayed home. Shocking, I know. It was kinda nice.

Because of all that we have going on in our lives, I have been intentional about two things for the past few weeks: writing more and writing less.

I have been writing a lot more… In my journal. I have been focusing on planting my thoughts and ideas, spiritual growth, prayers and more on paper. This is a habit I have held for a long time, and now I am trying to step it up a notch.

I have been writing less… Online. At least here. You may know I also maintain a site for dads, over at Deliberate Dads. And I have started a new site, built upon the reliability of Genesis, for my work with ICR’s educational program, where I am pursuing a Master’s Degree. You can find that at Reading Genesis. And, I have recently sparked a few ideas about a blog dedicated to writing, about writing, the tools of writing and stuff like that. This is a work in the initial stages right now, and we’ll see how things go.

On this day in history: In 1797, Nathaniel Briggs patented a washing machine. In 1865, outdoor advertising legislation was enacted in New York. The law banned “painting on stones, rocks and trees.” And in 1979, a major accident occurred at Pennsylvania’s Three Mile Island nuclear power plant. A nuclear power reactor overheated and suffered a partial meltdown.

A Coffee Variety Family Tree – This would look so good framed and hung on my office wall! I may have to think that over and see where it might hang…

Pencil Rolls – I love pencils, especially Blackwings. I have a Twist Bullet Pencil that I carry daily in my pocket. But how to carry several other pencils, that is the question. Joe Thorn looks at some of the best options.

30 Totally Random Life Hacks – There are some great suggestions here. 2, 21, 22, and 31 are my favorites.

Exhale – I have been captivated recently by timelapse videos of nature and scenic shots. This is the most recent find. It’s well worth watching in full screen and full volume.

What better way to celebrate Easter and the empty tomb than by seeing Peter and John experience the Resurrection firsthand?

John 20:3-10 (NASB)

So Peter and the other disciple went forth, and they were going to the tomb. The two were running together; and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter and came to the tomb first; and stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings lying there; but he did not go in. And so Simon Peter also came, following him, and entered the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there, and the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself. So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes.

A Coffee Spoof Video – Some people accuse me of taking my coffee seriously, very seriously. But I’m not like this guy. No way. I’m not. At all…

Planet Earth 2 – I love the video series that BBC released a few years ago called Planet Earth, as well as Blue Planet, which is about the oceans.. The images and footage they captured are stunning. And now they are making a second series, featuring the hypnotic voice of Sir David Attenborough. I can’t wait!

A Map Of The Whole Universe – This is a map of the known universe, showing the entire thing in one disc shaped image. Granted, it is difficult to display something that exists in three dimensions at this size in a two dimensional image, but here is a good attempt. And just ignore the evolutionary big bang language.

An Airplane Made Of Paper – As a kid, I made tons of paper airplanes. I could make a dozen different varieties, and all of them would fly well, more or less. Singapore Airlines also builds paper airplanes. This video shows how detailed they are.
