Top Posts For January 2015

The New Year has come and gone, and the first month of 2015 has drawn to a close. Time is flying by, and I am more convinced than ever before of the need to slow down and spend time doing the things that matter.

2015 has already brought several new and exciting things. Our church has hired a new Worship Minister, who is one of the students I had in my very first youth ministry. Steve and his wife have moved to town, are looking for a home, and will begin working with Cabool Christian Church on the 15th of February.

The search continues for a new youth minister. We have a couple of great prospects, and the interviews seem to be going well. However, we are expecting to receive a few more resumes in the next few days to look over as well.

And, on top of all that, our seventh child is due on the 20th of February. I think she will be here earlier than that, though. Her name is Mercy Dawn, drawn from the passing in Lamentations 3, where Jeremiah says, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

I can’t wait to meet her face to face.

With her birth imminent, my daily schedule and routine may get destroyed this month. If that happens, stay tuned, I will get back on track as soon as possible, and there will be some pretty cute pictures to share as well.

In the meantime, here are the top seven posts for the month of January:

  1. How To Take Notes While Reading The Bible
  2. 6 Characteristics Of A Good Communicator
  3. The Difference Between Purpose, Vision, and Mission
  4. Why You Need To Develop A Philosophy Of Ministry
  5. Trying A New Bible Reading System
  6. My Current Philosophy Of Ministry
  7. Why A Daughter Needs A Dad

This list is consistently similar, with many of these from my two most popular series: the series on communication and the Foundations Of Youth Ministry series. While most of these are older posts, several that are newer are just a few places away from making this list as well.

Also, in case you missed them, here are my seven most recent posts, not including the Coffee Break posts, or the series on memorizing Titus.

  1. Making The Perfect Cup Of Coffee -Water Quality – Resources
  2. Finding Peace In The Middle Of Busyness – Leadership
  3. Book Review: Kidnapped By The Taliban by Dilip Joseph – Reviews
  4. Book Review: Countdown To Zero Day by Kim Zetter – Reviews
  5. Making The Perfect Cup Of Coffee – The Grind – Resources
  6. 2015 Bible Reading Plans – Bible
  7. Responding To Criticism – Personal Growth

My favorite post from January was the post Finding Peace In The Middle Of Busyness, which looked at the need to take a break, even if for a few moments to renew your focus and find peace. With a new child on the way, that will be harder to do, but just as important.

I hope your month turns out as great as you want it to be!
